Drive on the panoramic Haute Corniche road on the French side to reach a typical Italian experience. On Fridays, visit Ventimiglia, the first Italian city accross the French border, famous for its open-air market. On Tuesdays and Saturdays, visit Sanremo, well-known for its flower culture and music festival, its car rally and the finishing line of the Milan-Sanremo cycling race. Then drive up to Dolceacqua medieval village which inspired Claude Monet with its old arched bridge and where St. Antonio baroque church and Castello Dei Doria castle attract many tourists every year.

The entry to Italy and the beginning of the Ligurian Riviera dei Fiori: Ventimiglia, well-known for its huge Friday open-air market filled with leathergoods, silks, clothings, and regional fare.

On Tuesdays and Saturdays, enjoy Sanremo, known for its flower culture, its typical Italian restaurants and its open-air market. The city is famous for its “Corso Fleuri” (flower parade), music festival, car rallye, and the famous Milan-Sanremo cycling race. Get a taste of La Dolce Vita!

A countryside scenic road will take you to the authentic Dolceacqua, a 12th century village by the Nervia river. Discover the Ponte Vecchio bridge, San Antonio baroque church, St. Devote Ludovic Brea altarpiece and the Castello Dei Doria castle. The 30-meter long single-arched Ponte Vecchio bridge is a technical wonder built of ancient stones and links two parts of the village: the “Terra” (the upper part) where the remains of the castle are and the lower part “Borgo”. Painter Claude Monet made two art pieces featuring this emblematic and unique bridge.

  • Ventimiglia: free time to enjoy the open-air market (Fridays).

  • Sanremo: free time to enjoy the open-air market (Tuesdays and Saturdays).

  • Dolceacqua: visit the old town, have your lunch, and enter the Doria castle (6€ entrance fee).

  • Return to France by the seafront.

  • End of tour: drop off at your address.
